How to transform your ideas into posts

Many people would like to start their own blog, but feel that is difficult to find ideas to create as many posts as necessary to build a readership. However, while creating content for your blog requires commitment and effort, it is not such a difficult accomplishment if you use the right tools.

If you have an idea, you can certainly transform it into posts that will mean something to your audience. The more you try to make this useful to your readers, the more ideas and interest you will get behind your blog.

Some ideas to improve your work

Here are a few ideas that you can use to keep you production of posts flowing naturally.

Keep a notepad for ideas: ideas can come at any time, and you must be prepared for them. For me, a great number of ideas happen when I am on the shower, or walking. The best way to avoid losing such ideas is to write them down. Use a notepad or small block of paper to write ideas as soon as you get them. If you are into gadgets, you can use a smart phone as to record your ideas too. Just do it, because good ideas shouldn’t be wasted.

Use the draft option of your blog to enter quick ideas. Most blog platforms have a way of creating drafts. For example, wordpress has a window for quick drafts that is a great tool for blog writers. What I do is to store ideas for posts as fast as I can on the draft window. I usually write down the sketch for several posts at the same time. Later on, when it is time to create a post, I just go over my list of drafts and select one to work on. It is a pretty smart way of working, because it removes the necessity of creating a new idea for a post: the idea is already there, I just need to polish it.

Do things in batch. One thing that helps a lot when creating posts is to do things in batch. That is, I accumulate several tasks that can be done together and then do them only once. For example, I already mentioned that I write drafts for several posts at the same time. Similarly, I take a time to check all tags for posts, or to add more links to my posts.

Create more than one post for related ideas. There is no law that says that you need to create only one post on each idea. In fact, it is just the opposite. If you have a great idea, you should develop it in several posts, so that you can cover different aspects. The key of not appearing repetitive, is at each time explore a different side of your idea, so that your readers you see something else about that topic. If you do this in the right way, your readers will be glad they have someone to show them this information.

Have a scheduled time for creation. Another good strategy is to create a schedule for creation. For example, you can define that you are going to write posts everyday at a certain time. You can set another time just to respond posts, or to research topics for your blog. No matter how you do it, having a schedule will make things easier, because you don’t have to think about what to do each time.

Re-read what you wrote and try to improve it. Finally, it is important to care about the quality of your posts. A good advice is to always check them at least once for typos, of missing information. Don’t worry to much about it, though. The web is a medium that supports quick changes whenever you need.
